Shoveler ballet

Description

To the untrained eye a shoveler looks rather like a mallard with a larger beak. They are not as common as mallard though, and in the north of England most seen are migratory birds in winter. Here I caught a solitary bird standing on the edge of a rock and he stretched his wing and left leg just as I got into position.
