Great Crested Grebe in evening light

On a beautiful spring evening on a calm lake this gracious Grebe came close and turned its head away from the light, angling it perfectly to catch the evening sun on its plumage, in prime breeding season colours. I was lucky enough to be able to watch this bird through the evening diving for fish and catching several sizeable meals.
