The chimneys, distillation towers and storage tanks of Stanlow Oil Refinery tower above the villages of Ince and Elton (pictured) at sunset on a dusky, hazy day. The refinery is seen here with steam rising while the flame on the flare stack simmers away, the refining of crude oil into various petrochemical products an unending process that marches into the night.
