Grey Heron portrait

A rather tame Grey Heron allowed me to get close enough to take a closeup portrait. The bird was in its prime breeding plumage, with relatively bright colours, the yellow beak and the plumes on the back of the head. Juvenile birds and adults in non-breeding plumage look less dramatic, with a generally more grey/less colourful plumage.
