Full Up!

This moorhen chick, which was only a few days old, was being fed by its mother when a glimmer of sun came through and illuminated the young chick. It looks like the bird was either being fussy or was full up as it refused this offering of food from the parent.

Moorhens are known by a variety of names, including water hen, swamp chicken and common gallinule.
