Drake Gadwall

From a distance Gadwall just look like ordinary grey ducks. Up close their beauty is revealed, the grey actually formed by a mottled pattern on their feathers. This Gadwall was one of several occasional visitors to a lake near me on a very frosty morning - so frosty that some of the duck's backs were frozen.
