Ring Billed Gull "chip stealer"

Description

Gulls are sometimes referred to as "chip stealers" because of their reputation at beach resorts. Here, this ring billed gull lived up to the name as it flew past with a curly chip or fry in its beak. This was seen on the shores of Lake Michigan and is a common species in the US, very rarely seen in the UK.
