A gloomy, foggy winter morning with absolutely no breeze led to this opportunity to photograph bare trees above the canal. Unusually the air was so still that, save for the odd duck splashing about, the canal was a mirror image of what sat above. It was a frosty morning and the scene was mostly devoid of colour, really making this work in monochrome for me. It's also one of the rare times I felt the photo worked only in portrait aspect ratio.
